Today, reporting a problem on your street means filling in an administrative form and never hearing about it again. You do not know where to report, to whom, or whether anything was done. Kartié makes reporting visible, collective and tracked.

What is Kartié?

Kartié is a free app that lets residents of Réunion Island report public-space problems — potholes, illegal dumping, broken street lighting, water leaks, dangerous trees, stray animals, accidents. Each report appears on a collaborative map with its photo, category and status. Other residents can confirm it rather than create a duplicate, and follow it through to resolution. An artificial intelligence checks every post before it goes live: it automatically masks faces, flags licence plates so you can hide them with a finger, and blocks names, private addresses and accusations targeting a person.

    Pick the category, write a sentence. Your location is detected automatically and the report is attached to your town.

    Check what is hidden

    The AI masks faces before publishing. If a plate or a document appears, it tells you and you hide it with a finger. The original photo is never kept.

    Neighbours confirm

    No "likes": we confirm. The more different residents confirm a problem, the more weight it carries.

    Every status change requires photo evidence. You watch the problem evolve, and get notified when it is solved.

Frequently asked questions

Is Kartié free?
Yes, entirely. Every feature is available without paying and without ads.
Do I need an account to use Kartié?
Not to browse: the map and feed are open. An account (email and password) is needed to publish, confirm or comment — that is what keeps the space healthy.
Are my reports sent to the town hall?
Not automatically for now. The statuses shown in Kartié are observed by residents, with photo evidence. We never write "forwarded to the local authority" while no town actually receives the reports. Automatic forwarding will come once agreements are signed.
Can I report a person or my neighbour?
No, deliberately. Kartié is for reporting a problem in a public space. Categories are closed and an AI blocks names, private addresses and accusations targeting an identifiable person.
What happens to the photo I publish?
Faces are masked automatically; if a plate or a document appears, the app tells you and you hide it with a finger before publishing. Only the masked version is kept: the original photo is never stored, and location data hidden in the file is erased.
Does Kartié work across all of Réunion Island?
Yes, in all 24 towns of the island, from Saint-Denis to Saint-Philippe via Cilaos and Salazie.
How do I delete my account?
From the app: Profile, then Settings, then "Delete my account". Your account, reports, comments and photos are permanently erased.
